Shivpuri Dham Kota-Famous Temple for 525 Shivlings- India Dekho


Shivpuri Dham is a majestic temple in Kota that is famous for having 525 small shivlings or Lord Shiva statues at a single place. The place is visited by a huge number of people all over the year. There are various other splendid structures within the temple complex like the Pashupathinath Temple and a huge black shivling of Lord Shiv, which weighs about 16-tons.

Information on Shivpuri Dham Kota-

The main attraction of the Shivpuri Dham temple complex is a unique Swastik shape formation by 525 small shivlings at a place. The center of the shape has a temple dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath having a 4-faced white statue of Lord Pashupatinath.

The main shivling is made in black stone and weighs around 16 tons, having a height of around 15 feet high, with a circumference of about 6 feet. This massive Shivling has sacred water around it with some small shivlings too.

The temples of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Annapurna, Lord Shiva family, and one dedicated to a sage are also located inside the premises. The complex is also blessed with the natural beauty of trees, birds, peacocks, and a pond that makes this place scenic and a picnic spot for the people.

Recently, construction works were done in the temple to intensify the beauty of the complex. A huge white-colored tower has been erected over the main shivling and sheltering work has been done over the small shivlings in the swastika formation.

An 84 Lakh Yoni Nivaran Yantra is also constructed on the floor here. This shape has a swastika at its center that extends into a typical maze work which is believed to help humans survive all bads of the 84 lakh life forms on earth.

The temple is visited by lot of people mainly in the month of Sawan or monsoon, according to Hindi calendar. Another time of the year when the temple is crowded is the day of Shivratri, one among the most celebrated and serene festival of Hindus.

New Bus Stand at Dhanmandi is the nearest bus stand from our destination and is at a mere distance of 2.5 km.

It is best to visit the temple with private vehicles like cars to facilitate the visit duration of your choice. You can also hire autorickshaws privately for a visit.

Also, public transport vehicles like city buses and tempos do not run on this route.

Nearest Train Train Station

The nearest railway station to Shivpuri Dham is Kota Junction. It is approximately 9 kilometers away from the temple complex. After arriving at the railway station, you can hire a taxi or use local transport services like auto-rickshaws to reach the temple12.
